You can make a set of steel wheels look very nice with some nice spray like gun-metal (not the nasty big trade cans of silver every van dealer daubs all over wheels) then lacquered. On one customer’s we have put the chrome wheel nut covers on but put thin strips of tape on them so they double as indicators.

£300 odd for new Durabrites sounds alright though gettin-on.Blimey I thought they were are lot more than that?
This is for Alcoa wheels?that will be with the old ones in part ex for the new ones
they are around £375 per wheel for durabrites
That’s still a lot less than I thought they were, I’ve seem to have got the idea that a set for a 4x2 would be about around the £4000 mark.
Pop the Shampers & get 'em in then Muckles!!

Well I don’t know about that, but my steel wheels are looking a bit shabby, I don’t like wheel trims as I think you should be able to see the wheel nuts and in Motorsport image is quite important.
So it might be easier to persuade the boss to part with the money at those prices.Might have to wait a bit though, trucks just had a new clutch.
but then again they’ve just spent £40k on garage walling and £10k on pit perch for the engineers to sit at during the race. Makes the price of a set of alloys seem like small change. Although investing in the transport always seems to be a long way down their list of priorities.
Not to mention wheel trims look grim on drive axles, ok on steers mind. Shudder every time I see that chrome liar on the back of a unit.
Dura-Brite Evo’s are around £315 each from Tyreline and Tyreracks, thats the price WITHOUT trading in steels or old Alcoa’s. If you barter a bit you may get them a bit cheaper.
Hmm seems very reasonable Smiler!
On a side note, I saw an Owens in a layby the other day cleaning his clean steel wheels on his hand & knees with a cloth. Now ally’s are fair enough but polishing your steelies? He likes his MP4!!!
Were on a Volvo direct from factory
2500 extra 295,all round on 6x2
No wheels part ex in
Forgot to say yes Alcoa Durabrites
Not an option with Volvo to have polished on factory order now
Or wasn’t last year
