Alloys

Hello gents, i have got my self some second hand alloys that have never been cleaned(i have seen blacker tarmac but only just)i have used a few gallon of ally bright on them and they are now down to bare alloy but very dull, whats the best way to get some shine on them ie products and elbow grease or a mop etc,
thanks in advance,
ROBBO.

Autosol on some cardboard. Grind it in, polish off.

try brillo soap pads first then autosol or peak and either elbow grease or the alloy polishing kit you can get from machine mart works well on a drill :sunglasses:

white diamond metal polish, much better than peek

Any tips on keeping them looking good with minimum effort? Apart from continuous polishing of course which is the last thing I want to be doing in break/rest periods!

Clean them regular

Before they go on the truck, get them very well cleaned then get a good few coats of wax (regular car wax can be fine) to help stop the muck sticking.

Still going to want regular cleaning though.

Autosol is the best for getting them shining, and a clear coat of lacquer will protect them.
