All the cunts must work Boxing Day

Nighting out at Thurrock Services it is almost empty, about 15 waggons in here, I’m in a reefer (it’s off as it’s cold enough outside) and there is a ■■■■ either side of me with their fridges on. The ■■■■■■■ gaff is empty why park next to me?

NewLad you’d have been better off at The World’s Rnd mate. Quiet pint and good grub and quiet night’s sleep… and free too!

Just pull the card and move to somewhere quieter in the yard.

Stan

Either move or switch them off yourself - no consideration for anyone else nowadays!

I always switch my fridge off if I can, if I can’t I’ll park in a corner on my own, I often wake up surrounded, but I did my bit when parking up by getting out the way.

Where is this pub you refer to? For future reference as we have a regular collection this way.

Not bothered about the parking costs tbh as work pay £20 so it means I had to pay £3 but got a £9 vouchers so not too bad

It’s Tilbury mate. Go down past dock entrance to roundabout outside cruiseliner terminal do a left and right at the next roundabout. Google it on your phone mate. 10-15 mins tops from where you are. Or park at Titan Truckstop West Thurrock and ten min walk back to The Shippub for good grub

Thanks FLIP, I do quite a few nights out so like a nice bank of places to park/eat and mixing it up makes nighting out more of an adventure than a hindrance.

allways the way,i parked at membury one day for 30 min kip plenty of space in the park so i picked a nice spot and parked,no sooner had i got my head down,a reefer parks right beside me with the fridge going full on, he jumps out locks up and walks off to take his break,i swear they do it purposely, they have it all day so think to themselves i will share it around why should i be the only one to get a headache

Just be aware if you do ever end up trying to park down at the worlds end pub in tilbury your need to get their early as it gets filled up their very quick

No prob’s NewLad. Got 33yrs worth of hideaways to draw upon
99% within a few mins walk of pubs/eateries and facilities…

And if you do park at the Worlds end make sure you park on the right side of the road cos if you don’t you’ll be woken up in the night and moved on or fined!!! be warned!!! The pub will write you a ticket out if you wish name your price but watch how you park!!!

I parked on that huge truck park near Stobart’s Carlisle depot once and there were about 5 trucks on there. Low and behold, 3 Irish reefers parked right next to me. I swear they do it on purpose.

Reefer drivers always try and park near other reefers, they all look the same, so they don’t notice if they’re on or off.

Used to wind me up too as I only ever parked up empty so I could turn it off, but you do get used to it.

NEVER turn a reefer off, BUT if it’s bothering you, try turning it on constant, you get used to the sound and fall asleep - like when you’re on a motorway and getting the nodding dog

I recently started on reefers and I’ve gotten used to the noise now.

It’s one of the things that worried me most when I started on. Not bothering other drivers with the noise of the fridge

I rarely stop in MSAs because of the noise for others and if I do I bugger off to a corner if I can.

Don’t ever switch someone else’s fridge off. If I caught someone buggering about with my referred they’d get a whack.

When someone said the ‘World Rnd’ I wondered if they meant the roundabout straight outside Thurrock Services… Always wondered if you were to pull in there and you weren’t on an 11/45 off how the ■■■■ you were meant to get out?

If the road is full at the Worlds End then I wouldn’t bother driving down because 9 times out of 10 the car park will be full and 2 trucks will be parked in the dead end bit so you can’t spin around to get out meaning you having to reverse out.

Surely if everyone followed this advice then it wouldn’t be full and no one would go down there
