All good things come to an end Belkin fleet to go

That’s it i new it wouldn’t last when i started but went along for the ride any way. Belkin are going to loose its own fleet. we where told two weeks ago that the drivers are at risk of redundancy and it was confirmed last week that as the trucks end there lease they would not be renewed and a driver would be made redundant. some of the lads where told on Friday the date they would finish ranging from feb to oct next year depending when the truck goes back. i was still out on the road retuning from Holland so will have my meeting with management and H R on Monday morning before departing for Germany. the redundancy package they are paying is quite generous depending on length of service but wont make up for loosing a bloody good job. one of the problems is that we cant compete with third party foreign haulage rates so are uneconomical as a fleet. think i will be going sometime next spring so if anybody knows of a good job coming up then i will be very interested. So if you see me out and about you can pay for the coffee for i will be jobless soon.

Shame to hear that, it seemed one of those jobs that were maybe a bit to good to true!!!

Decent trucks, good pay and working conditions…and cant compete with the eastern euro`s!!

Good luck with the future.

cheers for that but apart from the cheep brigade from the east we could have done a lot better with a decent management structure that new what it was doing. i know all drivers think that they know more than the bosses but you wouldn’t believe some of the things that went on here, but that’s for another day when i have been paid off.

It’s a shame, it was a high profile fleet, suppose it was inevitable though, transport costs are being squeezed harder than ever before and I suppose it was inevitable that it would go the way of so much other euro work.

not good news, sorry to hear that.

keep us informed of your job situation you never know whats around the corner in this game
all the best

Sorry to hear this do hope the future is a bit better for you mate.

That’s bad news.
I always liked to look of those trucks, but thought they were asking to be robbed with the big advert of what your load was.

Good luck in finding a new job.

I always thought that too … nice motors tho

Hope you find something mate

sorry to hear your going to be losing your job. it just makes me so sad someone else is losing there job to cheap eastern european haulage again who have killed our international transport industry

That thought did cross my mind but the flip side of the coin is that the trailers were mobile advertising, and the added value of that probably far outweighed any losses caused by the graphics.

Sorry to hear you guys will be losing your jobs. Seems like plenty of notice for you all though.

Agree with comments about advertising goods on vehicle but bet you more will go missing with t he foreigners taking the job on !!!

good luck in your searches for work

Sorry to hear that, bumped into a few of your drivers in the last couple years. Good luck.
