All 4 trucks calais

Stopped here on sunday night. There would be less than 10 trucks in. Thought the facilities were fantastic. Clean loos and showers, a shop for all your essentials coupled with a clean restraunt and Wi-fi available. The perimitter fence is electrified and a bloke walks round with a dog all night. Thought it was a excellent! Cost me 25 Euros but i stayed for about 15 hours. I think it was 1st hour free then 2.50 Euro for each hour after and a set rate for over 10 hours.

Sorry. Anyway…just as the others said. But it is fairly hard to miss the signs from the a16.

I wouldn’t stop within 80ks of Calais. Just looking for trouble. The whole place is milling with migrants looking to climb in your trailer or rob it.

Have seen the place but never stopped there and seeing as they charge 25 Euro, i reckon that can only be a good thing, less chance of being parked up next to one of our E European cousins for a start !!

do they sell the vigette there■■?

That is the idea of the dog and the electric fence. It is safer than the port, mind you the port is like a sieve :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t even ship out if my hours were too short to get me well away from Calais. I’d stay UK side till next shift. Same coming back, I’d cut my day short if I thought there was a chance I couldn’t get a boat or train.
As for paying 25 euros, forget it. I won’t pay to park in the UK never mind Europe. Plenty of places to park without having to pay.

I had a 45min break a few months ago at the last guarded parking area north of paris, the free spots were taken by the french, spanish etc and the guarded section had two estonians, a couple of hungarians and a lithuanian in there, so go figure. I did think the 3 euros for 51 minutes was a bit excessive, though.

In the leaflet i read , they actually guarantee you will not get any migrants in your trailer . Not sure how they can do that but they do . Personally i think 25 euro is pricing themselves too high . And the showers as clean as they are dont have any hooks to hang yer clothes , very annoying . Apart from that you can only get in with a normal sized outfit , if you are wide you cannot get through the gate even for diesil . Good idea but quite a few flaws . Why do they never ask the drivers what they want/need ?

yes, they sell it. also parking is charged per hour after first hour. rate is euro 2.50 per hour. safe clean, cant fault it. first time I went in at night security checked under trailer to check no scum hanging on.

Boss has told us to fill uphere as its cheapest in calais on the UTA card. They also do RED, DKV and a few others there. Good safe place to fill and I will be using it again.

According to the latest flyer from UTA, if you fill up with more than 150 litres of diesel you can have - A baseball cap, a free meal and a 50% rebate on the parking fee. Not tried it yet though!

It works a treat - fill up first, then go to the office with the fuel receipt, they will then give you the baseball cap, free meal voucher, and in the morning go back to the office again, they will calculate price for parking/per hour, and reduce by 50% - can’t fault it - safe secure parking

Don’t worry, they aren’t looking for a lift back to Italy. They’ll soon bang on your headboard when they realise you are going the wrong way.

Well I’ve had stowaways in my trailer, from parking at the IDS on The Dunes.
I’ve also had people attempting to get into my trailer at the automatic AS24 site on The Dunes, as I was filling up. This was late evening, but still plenty of light. How they thought they’d get in without me noticing I don’t know.

At no time did I attempt to get the stowaways out of my trailer.
I reported to the port authorities at Calais, they extracted them.

This was a few years ago though.
