Alert HGV Training

Want to book my Class 1 lessons this week had enough of working my (zb’s) off driving the class 2’s + bored (zb)less, does anyone know much about Alert HGV Training at Leicester and what its like taking your lessons and test around Leicester as don’t know it well!

i done my class 2 with j coates in slough, but they also have a place in leicester, i found the instructor very good. i would have done my class 1 with them as well but i moved to yorkshire and done it with a firm up here.

goodluck

You have a PM

Just be aware that you will need “2 years experience” of class 1 work before the vast majority of companies will consider starting you. In their eyes any hgv driving prior to this carries no weight.

A look a this might help

but also a look in the "New & Wanabies " section on this forum

Hi Stogie37,

If you click the recommended LGV tuition providers link provided by animal, a little scrolling will get you to “Leicestershire,” where you’ll find that Alert have been recommended by a TNUK member and are therefore included on that list.

In fairness to other providers in the Leicestershire area, there are also some other options for training schools that are equally recommended.

The choice is then yours to make, but I would advise that you to visit at least a couple of providers, meet the instructors and see the vehicles for yourself before coming to a decision. Asking each provider the same questions will allow you to make a fair comparison and a good choice.

Good luck mate!!

Thanks for your reply, yes i’m fully aware of the 2 year(zb), will have to start off with agency work again, the same as i did for class 2.

Why do you think Class 1 will be any different? Its the same job except the vehicle bends in the middle.

Yes but a new challenge or the learning then learning how do drive them & just a change in general why not

At times I still enjoy driving a sprinter makes a change

While getting C+E work might alleviate your working your ■■■ off problem if you can get some cushy RDC work it might have the opposite effect on your levels of boredom as you’ll spend most of your time sitting on the motorway.

i can second that. dont bother mate.

Thats 3  Stay well away from Alert Proffesional, they are full of false promises, complete time wasters, and only look out for them selves, not their drivers… Go with JCoates, there trainers are some of the best, but their admin is not great. in my opinion.
