Alan knights

Thanks for the reply Morris . Not sure if you remember bur we spoke about 3 Years ago on here straight after I passed my test and you had a word and they were interested because a lad from Hereford was leaving . I decided aganist it because I felt I needed experience drivin in the uk first . Well I have defo done that . On your points about bulbs and oil etc I currently drive for a bloke just running my lorry so when something goes wrong my first thought isn’t to phone Volvo it’s to get my tools out and the cab over to see if there is anything i can do . I pull flat trailers doing fertilizer and logs so ropes and sheets and ■■■■■■ forests so I’m not scared about getting my hands dirty . Like I say in my op I spoke to someone last week and he seemed keen and took my name and number but I realise he probably has phone calls every day asking after jobs . Thanks again Rich .

Thanks for the reply Morris.

Who?? You will be calling the big man Marina next and I’m pretty sure he will be ■■■■■■ at that too!!

TheBear:
I thought I could skive but Daddy Bulgaria teaches me lessons.

now youare taking the ■■■■! no one can teach you anything about skiving, if you look in the dictionary for skiving theres a picture of big momma in a layby on the A34 with the curtains shut :open_mouth: !

Sorry , just loaded in a forest off a bloke called Morris and had the name in my head . Oooppss

Oi, I resemble that remark!!! It’s Big Momma that needs the rest, not me!! Just cos I have had a nice nights sleep at Europoort (Rotterdam) and am now off to catch a ferry over to Harwich (with a cabin, off course) doesn’t mean I skive, you know!
I got a hard 2 days coming up now … off the boat about 6pm, run and tip Liverpool then up to Penrith to reload and home by tomorrow evening or tis a 45 on the road for me this week. Tis a hard life, you know!

met a Bulgarian driver who was on for them and we was looking for a new job as he said the wages were awful so that should say it all really!

Mr Scania, could you explain the underlined please?? You are making presumptions on a Bulgars sayso?? I might add, one of the laziest [zb] [zb] it has ever been my displeasure to meet!! I thought I could skive but Daddy Bulgaria teaches me lessons.

As Lee explained, we earn a precentage (is that still even legal). Daddy Bulgar is a poser who has polished his motor to within an inch of its life. Painted his chromed wheelnut guards [zb] gold, would you believe!!! The reason Daddy’s wages are [zb] is cos he does [zb] all!! We have three Bulgars and seven Poles working for us and there are only three out of the lot who are worth a toss. We have Uncle Bulgaria who is an OK bloke and gets on with the job and as far as I know is happy with his wages. Then we have the laziest bloke I have ever met ie Daddy and to cap it all we have Daddy’s blinking son (hence Baby Bulgaria) who is a chip of the old block. He came very unstuck the other Saturday when I was helping out in the office LOLOL He phoned up to say he was empty and when I gave him his next mission, he told me he didn’t have enough driving hours left. I looked again at the sheets, then told Baby what he had done and how long he had taken. I told him him I was a driver and not an office waller and knew the job he had been on very well and knew exactly how long it took. After some stuttering from him, he got told in my best Sarf Lundun accent to ‘get his finger out and get to the next collection asap as I reckoned he still had at least three hours driving left’ … very politely of course LOLOL
Another reason Alan is paying the Poles etc crap money is he has realised they are not worth a toss and more trouble than they are worth. He hopes they will leave off their own accord, methinks.

Now back to the original poster … S2Rich. Mr Rich, are you shy? Do you go running to the fitter when a bulb blows? Do you ask the fitter to put oil in your motor? Do you expect to be given an hour to wash your motor every day? Do you cry if you are called very rude names when you muck up ie wrong tempature, shot a pallet etc? Do you expect to be parked up every day by 3pm? Do you expect every Saturday and Sunday off?
if the answer to any of these is YES then stay away!!! Go to Tescos, Sainsburys … anywhere but here
I have worked for Alan on and off (more on than off) for ten years now. Why have I come back twice?? Why do drivers come back after leaving? Because although the planning is a joke and the office a shambles, if you enjoy a good craic and a laugh and hate H&S, then this is a good place to work. A few years back, if we came in the yard early mornings, his Mum would cook us breakfast and more than one driver has had a shower in his Mums house. There are no formalities at the firm, Alan wears jeans to work and will go out and do a delivery as quick as the next bloke.
I might also add that there are 30 drivers grateful to Mr Knight over the last two to three years. We all know how bad the situation is at the moment in this industry and there have been weeks when I have fully expected to get back on a Friday and be told we have closed. Despite all the problems, Alan has managed to keep the firm going when many other small firms have closed and we are all grateful for that.

I will also add that I have NEVER once complained to Alan about my wages but then I am a hard little worker (when not sleeping in a layby on the A34)

Now, if you will excuse me, I must get to Killingholme… I have a ferry to catch and must be in Dusseldorf by tomorrow lunchtime and only just leaving Stoke!

Dear Mr Bear I stand humbly corrected! That told me haha! That will explain it then. Not sure whether he was Daddy or Baby. Was loading flowers earlier this year in Holland. Bear, you dont pull a tanker by any chance do you?

Yes mate, I do. Spend a lot of time in Holland … I got asked to help out on the tankers last year and been on them ever since. The work is different and I quite enjoy it … saves having to sit in those sodding RDC’s listening to pricks talking about when they ‘did the ME’ and what they told the Boss when he asked them to start on a Sunday LOL
You’ll always know my motor … it has Big Momma on the sunvisor.

and as for Daddy Bulgaria, well, we are rather a bunch of scoundrels at Mr Knights and a few of us caught him good and proper a little while back. You know how sometimes you get the devil in you?? Well, three of us got the devil in us and it resulted in Daddy being parked up for 45 hours LOLOLOL He is still after us as he now knows who ‘did him’ LOL

I think they would only be regarded as slanderous if they were 100% incorrect. :stuck_out_tongue:
