Yes mate, I did 20 years on there. If you’re after the job at Didcot, there is a guy driving there who used to be a Foreman at Thame and then he came down to Fawley with us. I can tell you more about him but not in a public forum!
AP went through a series of job cuts not so long ago when they were told to get more cost effective so I’m not certain what type of future prospects they would have for you.
At your next interview I would ask the question… in light of recent redundancies, why are they now employing again. It may have been a simple case they cocked up and got rid of too many drivers at that time. It would also be beneficial to find out about their share of the market place. They were doing well at one time as they were able to undercut the opposition (us) because they we being subsidised by AP in the US. Apparently they have now been told they have to stand on their own feet without any subsidies, which means they couldn’t continue at the low rates they put in which could result in them losing customers as they had to increase their product costs.
They will more than likely have good answers to these questions but it would be beneficial to find out the reality of where they are today.
