Hi guys,
Tomorrow I’m starting a job with an air cargo company, and it’s cargo operative (formerly category D) work, ie., taking freight from approved consignors straight to the airport. I did the one-day course last week, but this’ll be my first time at it and they didn’t go into much detail about procedures, and didn’t give us any printed literature. Anyone done this before? What do I do differently to any normal freight work? I know there’s a particular bit of paperwork that says this is secure freight and has the consignor’s number, and this has to be presented at the airport. Also, the truck has to be kept secure (the TIR cord in particular). What else?
