Agency work with Stobarts

Ive just registered with an agency in Middlesbrough that gets work with the local Stobart depot ,
I’ll have to do the usual assessment drive first ( when i get the chance  )
I what i was wanting to find out was

1, where is the nearest Stobart depot to Middlesbrough?

2, whats Stobart like to work for if your an agency driver?

3, what are the perks and what are the downs?

As i have visions of angry Eddie spotters cursing when seeing a non uniformed driver at the wheel of there precious Stobart lorry!
Not to mention (if the stories i hear from other drivers are true) about all the [zb] they do like the having to wave at people, making sure your Suzie’s are NEVER tangled at all times even when driving down the road, in case a spotter sees and complains!

Yes i do know not to believe everything you hear, but after 10 years service in the army Ive had a gut-full of all that [zb]
and seen it all and done it all ( polishing the undersides of land rovers before handing over to another unit is one story!)

You’ll probably say “don’t bother with it then” but ill try anything once especially if it leads to a full time job and if anything, from what i saw on the TV I’d probably elevate the company and be an improvement

If it needs stars to get it past the auto-censor, that’s your clue that the word isn’t allowed. dd.

1 didnt i see something about teesport, tesco,i guess stobarts run it.

  1. most agency i know like it,easy work,gar 10 hrs,decent trucks

  2. perks as 2,downs[normal drivers gripes,early starts,late starts,not enough pay,days too long,days too short].

how you would know if you suzies are tangled when your driving down the road is beyond me,it doesnt matter whether a spotter sees them or not, its a case of taking a bit of pride in what you do,i check them before i leave and check them if i have a collection, it takes seconds to untangle them so not a problem to me
as for the spotters i rarely see them and if i do its normally a young lad with mum and dad,ive no problem at all letting them take a picture of him stood in front of truck, waving or smiling at him,hes a young kid enjoying himself, whats the problem with that.
as for you elevating the company or improving it weve plenty of big-headed know- it all who actually know zb all so id guess youll just blend in rather than stand out :unamused: :unamused:

Worked for stobbies at Bridgewater a little while ago.
No assessment, given truck keys, paperwork and told trailer no, and get on with it. Ask how they want paperwork done as I seem to remember they wanted time of arrival, time of tip etc.
As for the spotters, there was a young un at the store and he wanted photos etc. Made his day when I let him sit in the cab.
