Hi Troops, I’m doin some shifts for Morrisons, & they’re telling me I can take a break as I’m being tipped in their shops, I reckon u can get done by vosa any one got any info on this ■■ ( I hand the keys & paperwork over b4 they start tipping)
i used to work in a store all the drivers do it, they dont like them parked outside on a break only in a morrisons yard.
u can use the store canteen aswell
Take your break where you want …if it suits you while they’re tipping you then do so.
If not, have it somewhere else!
Why would VOSA get you? They only want uour ■■■ when YOU tip on rest.
It’s morrisons policy for drivers to chill wid’ it when they get to a store.
Some guys will ask for keys, some wont. But all motors will run the radio and heater without keys.
What agencies do Morrissons/Asda is the Yorkshire area?? I need some more options for weekend work.
If you’re not doing the tipping I don’t see a problem? Its the way I work. If I’m on the pallet truck its work, if not I take break (15/30 or 45 whatever works in with the run)

There’s nothing to stop you having a break whilst they’re unloading the vehicle, when I did a few shifts for Morrisons a couple of years ago that was the normal practice as it is on many other companies.

As long as you are free to dispose of your time you can take a break. If you are required to stay with the wagon in case you’re needed to move it or help unload then it is PoA if they tell you how long it’ll be or you know how long it’ll take. Anything else is other work.

You don’t have to be able to dispose of your time freely for a break, the only stipulation for break is that the time can be used exclusively for recouperation, you can have a break whilst required to stay with the vehicle.
Morrisons policy is for you to have brakes on store or RDC sites. You don’t touch the load, you wait in cab or canteen.
They know if you stop on route etc.
Cheers guys
This confused me for ages but if you, yourself tip the wagon or help then its other work and can’t be booked as a break, if they tip the wagon and you’re sat on your arse then it can be booked as break.
