Hi all, a quick question, I work full time which wont change for a while. These umbrella schemes offer more money but it appears they don’t pay tax ( is this correct? ) .
So I’m paye Monday to Friday will I need to do self assessment for the umbrella scheme ?
Also do any agencies in East mids offer hourly paye anymore?

I worked for Extra Drivers in Derby and they offered PAYE
I was under an umbrella scheme for around a year until April (my agency didn’t charge for the privilege either)
However, the government (rightly) changed the law which should have put an end to umbrella schemes.
I was offered an alternative which basically involved me becoming a director of a company. I decided to return to PAYE and cut my days down so I came in under the tax threshold
Nothin changed only the way its done on paper
