yep £500/ £600 if they’re lucky.com :grimacing:

And the prize for most blatant attempt to start another BS debate and slagging match goes to…

Agency drivers are very similar to politicians, it’s all lies

I don’t know where this impression that agency drivers are all telling porkies about earnings, I was agency for two years 2011 and 2012, and I was banking 700 a week, every week, self employed mind you, and the only reason I took a full time job was because I got on the fuel tankers with even better money, ■■■■ shifts mind and I miss the fact I could take time off when I wanted, would go back to it in a minute as the agency I worked for were great, but the missus says no, need to fund the exotic holidays she plans now.

Actually it’s not fact, it’s just some bollox you’ve made up to start an argument, quite sad really!

And where’s the driver shortage never seen any empty shelves in the shops or never had anything not delivered when ordered online.

Agency work in the West Midlands around £9 rigids and £10 artics.

Firm I enquired with last year for permanent job, spouting earnings of £550 week with no nights out were actually paying £7.20 for rigids and £8 for artics. That hauling steel, so not clean light work. Have seen other permanent jobs advertised with similarly low pay.

The problem and it is a big problem, is that very little agency work is guaranteed 50 hours week, month after month continuous. Yep it might have a higher rate much of the time, but it is unlikely that the majority of agency drivers would earn more than they would in full time employment, over the course of a year. The ones that do, are few and far between.

Did an agency man take your job?

So many of these same old, lame threads being fired up lately it’s tricky to decide which one to bother with. Can we possibly show a bit more creativity when launching “new” discussion topics please? All the funnies, nasties and sensibles have been submitted time and time again, and the whole thing has completely lost what precious little entertainment value it ever had.
It’s a big, vibrant world out there - let’s find something more worthwhile to dissect, eh?

In the meantime, I’ll try to find a subject that isn’t bordering on extinction - be patient my little wallflowers!

Absolutely +1.

Please can we have some more Agency Driver bashing threads, there must be something new to add to them surely.

All you full timers must be able to come up with something that hasn’t been said before.

Just look on one of the old Stobart threads and cut and paste as required. :unamused:

If they were, I’d be getting more work from those that are “All talk and no delivery” - ie those that don’t turn up to a plum shift, thus letting me in at the last minute for premium rate… :grimacing:

If “agencies” are only exepcted to tell lies “whilst their lips are moving” - It should be said that Agency drivers only speak bull when in the confines of an RDC waiting room… :sunglasses:

Hate to admit it but I’m actually missing Conor on here :open_mouth: defending the agency corner.
Reckon all this anti agency stuff will smoke him out of Trucknet retirement, he won’t be able to contain himself, especially if somebody combines it with knocking the dcpc
Come back Conor all is forgiven, and dozy is pining for you

Yeah but driving itself is just like Groundhog Day. Tacho card in, walk round check, open map (or plug in SatNav), do deliveries, return to yard, fuel up, take tacho card out hand paperwork and keys in, go home and repeat… and repeat… and repeat…

Left a decent paid job in May 2012,went agency via the s/e route, even with quiet spells over chrimbo and January,I’m averaging a take home pay of over £700:a week.

That is my idea of Hell.

Thankfully being agency but always at the same place (my choice) I get variety even though I know nearly all the runs. Think there’s only two I haven’t done…yet  Trialling new runs or doing one-offs are right up my street.
