Agency drivers in Europe

do firms abroad doing the supermarkets and automotive work
use agency drivers

Yes!

If you can speak German, try this:
lkw-mietfahrer.de/

Oh, and they’re apologising that although all their drivers speak German, they don’t all speak great German. And there’s a page which is discussing the lack of young drivers coming into the business.

Looks like it’s the same there as it is here.

cheers any where else

You can find driving jobs in Europe from the UK job centre website… I only speak German, but the last time I looked there were loads in Germany, although most want a minimal level of German, and an ADR ticket. Helps if you have wagon & drag experience as well, although lots of Sattelschlepper (artic) jobs as well!

hitch:
cheers any where else

try Randstad in zeebrugge or antwerpen they are all over europe

i am not job hunting just interested in
the use of angency drivers and is it as high as it is in
the uk

I Googled “Fahrervermittlung LKW” and got this page:

google.co.uk/#hl=en&sclient … 9&bih=1023

Of the 10 links, 8 are driver agencies.

But you can Google “Fahrervermittlung (and your German city of choice)” and get location specific agencies.

And yes, in Germany the use of agencies for drivers is at least as high as here.

Agency drivers aplenty in France too - and of course when anything goes wrong everyone always says “What do you expect, he’s an agency driver”

The other speciality here is the short term contract, up to 80% of blue collar jobs in the past year have been on short term contract (CDD as the French refer to it). Just a reflection of the lack on confidence in today’s economy.

In Ireland it was very rare till eddie came along

in france due to their employment laws around 80% of the country are agency staff!

In Poland it is still a new thing. Until recently driving agencies were unheard of, now the big players from the west bring their standards…
So Manpower and such follows them and open new branches allover the country.
