Agency drivers, how you doing for work?

Can we name and shame crap agencies? Champion Recruitment get my vote if we can.

The agency I work for are busy ( west of London ) I usually do 3-4 days a week by choice last week it was 6 long ones and it’ll be 5 this week as they keep begging me . The last 4 years january has been busy round here then it dies feb march and picks up in the run up to easter

Up until 2 weeks ago in was doing 5 shifts a week, but then the woman I was covering for came back off the sick,. Had 2 days last week, and 2 days from a company I worked for last summer.

Spoken to the agency yesterday, they were promising the usual “we’ll get you 5 shifts a week again” bollox.

Wished I could have seen look on his face when I told him I’d found my own work for the next 5 months.

Got home from last film shoot on 23rd December , had week off over Xmas , signed on with 2 Agency BEFORE i went on the last film job , just to cover myself because i know the film game is dead in January/February…nothing , not even a phone call :imp:

Been ringing both Agencys up , just get fobbed off . Luckily i know a few firms round here , so i have had a bit work , and thank God SWMBO works , otherwise i"d be in deep sh*t ! , So in all i"ve had 10 days since 23rd Decenber . Not good .

However , on a brighter note , had 2 interviews this week ( other than my " didn"t get in the door " thread  ! ) , so fingers crossed :grimacing:

Back at Warburtons’ Bicester tomorrow. I’m ■■■■■■ off that I went for an induction (unpaid) Tuesday, on the “knowledge” there’d be regular dustcart work for the local council contractor. To be fair the agency admit to being messed about so pencilled me in for Warburtons just incase the rubbish job (pun intended) was, rubbish.
Sent an email to Huntsmans Quarries at Bourton On The Water to see if they have anything, but not holding my breath.
