i want to now if DRIVE HIRE AGENCY is a good agency…or a bad agency…and if i signed with this agency a can refuse a job or i must go?/
Most agencies are the same drivER hire are generally more experienced but are usually franchisees so terms and conditions may change from branch to branch.
You can refuse to do whatever job you want but don’t expect to keep getting lots of work if you keep turning it down.
i understand thank you
I do a few jobs for Driver Hire, did one last night, they know what sort of jobs i will do and the ones i won’t. They know if i accept i will do the job to the best of my ability and they know it’s not worth offering me jobs i won’t like or no one else wants to do,fussy ZB but good ambassador when they want it done right, new customer blah blah blah & no i’m not above the next man in skills, maybe just my sights !

Depends on where you are and the person who runs your local franchise.
I did some bits and pieces for them until a couple of weeks ago but will not do any more.
Why?..
When I eventually got some payslips through, I sat down and worked out how much I was actually getting paid per hour.
Class 2 (as an example - I did both 1 and 2)
Hourly rate £9.50 (including rolled-in holiday pay) is the equivalent of earning £8.50 and hour with a ‘real’ employer who also gives you (minimum) paid holidays.
Umbrella company charges and Employers NI chargeback took another £1.25 (average) off the hourly rate bringing it down to around £7.25 an hour, before your own PAYE and NI deductions.
So I was earning the same as I would have been in a proper job at £7.25 an hour.
So, if you want the equivalent of £7.25 an hour, with no guarantee of work, no idea when you will be starting and finishing, etc. off you go - Driver Hire can give you all this.
I like my local Driverhire franchise.
Really nice blokes, still relatively new to it so still try to tell the truth.
Here comes the BUT.
As mentioned above the umbrella scheme is compulsary and expensive. Not sure if thats where they make most of there money as obviously both the franchisor and the franchisee needs a cut. No direct payment limited company option. Gross rates are OK when u look at what you actually get its very poor.
Shame really because i would work through them by choice if they would pay me direct. Now just do bits when it suits me.
As above- worked for them but it wasn’t really worth it because of the compulsory umbrella scheme meaning that the take home was a lot less than other places. They also would agree one rate of pay on the phone and then pay another rate.
In my experience they are all the same , a good agency is like looking for a virgin in a hareem.
