Hi does anyone know any agencies in London who pay for class 2 and in return sign a contract that you must work a number of hours at a lower pay rate?
Thanks
Tbh if you’ve already got your class2 your lucky if they give work every day let alone paying for it…
I’m sure I saw in the back of the papers some wile back “get your Hgv with is and we’re give you work”
I also heard the government might pay towards it, ie retraining . But I’m not 100% sure on that .

I can imagine an image of a flying pig
Was there not an agency in west London that tried that. Where the bloke started chucking filing cabinets out the window?

I thought that was a training broker/agency and he got ripped off by the training broker side but I stand to be corrected …

In todays world why would they? theres plenty of full licence holders happy to drive class 1 at a lower pay rate ie the flipflop boys
a lot of the big agency’s used to do it but not any more like splitshift said why ,when there of plenty out there who have the licence, and there is a loop hole in the “u got to work for us for 2 years if we put u through” and it cant be closed ,so them knowing it took the training and test then parted company with the agency after a month or two

They can’t as there is such a thing as minimum wage and with most agencies only paying 7 - 8 quid an hour if they took 4 quid an hour off you , you would be on £3 - £4 an hour
Lmfao no agency anywhere gonna do that pmsl funniest thing have heard this week lol

THIS is a known public swindle. They’ll take the money you pay them for the so-called “training” for sure.
Then of course, the work doesn’t materialise. No bother, they don’t lose anything out of that, but ■■■■. You’ve already paid up front.
Next mug please!
I originally got my licence paid for by Royal Mail in 1991, but I had already been working there for 3 years on normal postal (non driving) duties prior to “being put in for it” after my constant badgering the firm for it.
Check out if there are any normal postal vacancies near you, rather than some new office being filled up with refugees from 9elms or wherever which is the case for me locally.

You still with Royal Mail …
Calor gas paid for my class2 back in the day…
I think I was tied down for 5 years with Royal Mail after they paid to put me through it on my holidays.
I’ve since cashed in my seniority - essentially what taking Voluntary Redundancy amounts to.
