Agencies are just liars/cheats

Whilst inbetween proper jobs I have signed up to a few agencies to see a few different places/jobs and also to bring in some extra cash to cover bills etc.

Never in my life did I think such a bunch of cheating, lying schisters would have been allowed to infringe upon our green and pleasant land.

Various foul play has been experienced such as pay packets being short EVERY week without fail. Now upon being notified of the short fall a few have acknowledged this and said yes we’ll fix it only to never do anything about it. Best one yet has been chasing up a shortfall of pay only to be told I am on the extra special bonus level of pay on the current job to make up for this. At 8 pound an hour I couldn’t believe the ■■■■■■■■ I was hearing and let rip.
Getting sent to interviews for full time jobs armed with all the wrong info to puff up the job to make it look great only to get there, pass the interview and get the job (x2 for this one, both a different agency) only to discuss pay and find out the agency were ■■■■■■■■■■■■ you just so you would start the job, the agency get their fat bonus and you are left wondering why your pay packet is short once again.
Or better yet getting called up with the agency parasite sounding all excited for you “this place want you specifically can you be there 8am tomorrow”. Hold on ■■■■■■■■■■■■, lets first find out the rate and what the job is eh? Oh it’s 7.00 an hour and it’s moving sewage about, yes that’s why you’re excited about it and not me.
Or getting told all excitedly how they want you in for nights, but you get paid exactly the same as days. So where’s the incentive to do nights for no extra cash when I lose the opportunity of a days work either side of it?
Now we come to hours. Oh yes, deduct 30 mins off me everyday even if I don’t take it and the last straw is businesses going off the trucks gps as to when you started and finished? What about the time before loading/securing and the end of the day when doing the same?

But hey ■■■■ the agency worker we are little more than slaves who get treated like ■■■■ by the businesses and the agencies.

I am a happy person but this agency work really does get to you when you get a raw deal over and over again.

I am truly baffled how they try to cheat/lie their way into and out of everything.

Any agency horror stories please share as I need cheering up. :laughing:

I have literally just posted a reply on the topic 'taking the **** out of agency drivers and what a bunch of ‘estate agents’ driving agencies are.

Bearing in mind I am brand new to driving commercially the first agent I ever spoke to invited me in, sat me down for an exam and then asked if I liked foreign travel as she had just the job for me driving around Europe and America!! My reply was “what me? the ink on my licence is still wet”. I saw right through this ■■■■■■■■■■■ and asked if she gave the same script to every new start?
Not impressed.

I dislike and distrust them intensely. With scant few exceptions, I cant help but generally view them as unprincipled, parasitic, opportunist, freeloading vermin. The enemy within! Tragically, the virtual abolition of workers rights has presented them with near-perfect breeding conditions, so they won`t be dying out anytime soon. Before these bottom feeders hauled themselves out of the swamp, I can vaguely recall somewhere in the distant past, a jobs market that was a much fairer, balanced place for decent working folk to compete in.

And now we have the ‘piece de resistance’. Offered a job, said yes I’m interested then for 3 days in a row I was calling up to find out the rate and was getting fobbed off until I said look I’m not starting a job without knowing the pay rate as this is ludicrous. They then said would you be happy with the same rate we offered you last time and I said ok. Text followed offering me slightly less than what I was paid last time.

I know their game they don’t confirm pay rates before you commence work so they can’t lumber you with the absolute minimum and you won’t realise until you’re two weeks into the job as thats when you get the first weeks pay sheet.

Thing is these stupid ■■■■■■■ hold the phone to their chest and ‘whisper’ all this to each other about as quietly as a volcanic explosion so I can hear all the lies and scams.

I would really just like to do an honest days work for an honest days pay and cut these parasites out of the equation. I hope they contract a nasty venereal disease. :laughing:
