Agencies And Employer Changing Jobs

i (obviously) realise this is a very old post but; answer>it depends , on u"r agreement with agency , the attitude of the agency staff (walking off can cost an agency a contract)i used to accept such changes and hang the shift out 4 max hours, then once i got wiser ,i would tell agency i was regular with,“if they change at last minute i walk” depends on how hungry u are ?

Obviously with a user name like yours you like to live in the past so is this why you bring up 8 yr old threads ?

As far as I understand it, you’re refusing work.

I had a job up to ■■■■■■■■ one hit, one drop, full load from the agency. Turned up, and the employer said they said it was a run to ■■■■■■■ but no other details. It turned out to be 5 drops, 2 collections. However, I started at 1030am and most places closed at 4pm. I managed to get most done and one collection and the employer moaned at me for dragging my heels.

Still got the job done, but just don’t trust some agencies.

Some people have good relationships with theirs, others don’t.

If you accept the job from the agy, then after arrival refuse from employer and leave then not only do you cause problems for the agency but they are less likely to give you work.

Say the agency tell you one thing say an easy run to make up some hours and the Employer tell you another (say 3 drops round London instead of a trunk with a trailer swap), if you say no thanks to the employer, do the agency have to pay you 8 hours? I’ve had this more often than not and it’s why I left agency work.

Thanks

Ian.

The i had asimilar problem with proffesionals in Lincoln and they still havent paid me saying i had broke the contract even though i was told i would have one run to do and not 2.

I went to Citizens Advice and it looks like they are allowed to hold your money legally as agency laws are different to full time employers.
