If there is any defence here, the height indicator sign to the left, is obscured by the undergrowth!!!

Yeh, but the bridge ain’t obscured is it?
The fact that the sign was obscured should be MORE reason to check it out first, or at the least approach it slowly with caution, not shut his eyes and hope for the best.
It looks like he’s approached it from wrong angle anyway.

Ah, I hadn`t thought of that.
Regarding the skip truck - he did deliver the skip, just maybe not to the right location. Guessing this pure tunnel vision and trying to deny to him / herself that it happened. Auditioning to be a tipper driver…gotta get the load off fast.
