Probably won’t get as many reponses but that has nothing to do with respect for our armed forces, the casualties or their families.
:frowning:

Rip to the boys who died fighting a rich man’s war, oppression always breeds resistance :frowning: :frowning:

From what I’ve seen of the M62 Thread, it contains more than enough pointless speculation for even the most vicarious poster to glean some inane entertainment from it.

Speaking as someone who has helped repatriate nine of my Shipmates who died in a helicopter accident while on Armilla Patrol. I’m glad that we didn’t have the Internet available in those days to analyse and torment the friends and families of the deceased.

I fail to see how a possibly endless thread along the lines of the one about the M62 crash, on the why’s and wherefores of the War in Afghanistan and the reason why those Fusiliers died is showing them any real respect or gratitude.
I understand that you are looking to show our Forces the respect they deserve but I don’t think the PDF on TNUK is the right place for it.

For the Fallen, RIP

Why do we still allow the old men to send the young men to war and their possible death?

Because true courage would be to tell these armchair warriors our sons and daughters are not going to die to spread their lies and corruption around the globe.

Time to say enough is enough.

We as a nation owe our armed services a massive debt of honour! no matter how daunting the task they get it done,RIP we hold you in the highest regard!

Rip

RIP to these men and the 444 who have so far lost their lives in the pointless war.

God bless and watch over them.

We will remember them

Firstly,at least in my case and many others, the posts on the M62 topic are about technicalities which hopefully might help to prevent other similar sad types of incidents.Anything else related to the victims should be a private matter left to those who knew them and their relatives. The same applies in the case of those who fall in the line of service.

In keeping with that idea why are we continuing to send people into that place to face a pointless risk and to try to win hearts and minds when there’s no point. When it’s obvious that the problem is all about Britain’s open door immigration policy and border security not what the mad taliban and their followers want to do in their own back yard.

I agree about britains immigration policy but the do what they want in there own backyard is complete rubbish the main reason we went into afghan was it was a training ground and free for all for terrorists and there lunatic ideas I no we can’t turn every crazy out of control place into a western democracy but can we afford to let lunatics run training camps and have safe haven for tomoros 911 or 77
Our boys are out there trying there best weather you feel it’s right or wrong is Anva matter I just think they deserve the support they deserve

As I said the only reason that those lunatics did what they did on 911 and 7/7 etc etc etc is because the stupid western governments allowed them into the country to do it.It’s obvious that we’re in more or less an effective state of war with the muslim based countries at least with much of their populations if not always their governments in which no one can really tell where they stand. The fact is Israel isn’t zb’ing about losing troops on a wild goose chase getting nowhere in Afghanistan but their people are probably are lot safer from attack by the raving muslim lot than the Americans and the Brits are.If Afghanistan was/is that much of a threat to us then there are plenty of better strategic ways to deal with the problem than wasting the lives of troops on pointless Vietnam type foot and vehicle patrols in a vain attempt to win hearts and minds amongst the Muslim population. The fact is it’s their turf so leave them to it they aren’t a threat to us so long as we don’t allow them in and we get rid of those who are here wether they were born here or not.Which is why Israel is in a safer situation domestically than we are without bothering to lose a single soldier in that zb hole. :imp:

What better way to give our forces the support they need than for calling to get them out of the place before any more are lost on top of the ones they’ve lost already. :bulb: :unamused:

Shame it was Saudis who supposedly piloted the planes on 9/11 and another pity that it was Pakistanis who carried out the 7/7 bombings.

Mind you Afghanistan is what, within 2000 miles of both of these countries so lets go there instead of picking on our “allies”

The Russians tried Afghanistan (only difference was they were actualy asked for help by a legitimate Afghan government) and they got trashed even though they border Afghanistan.

The reason they got trashed?Because we supplied weapons to the Taliban oh sorry Mujahdeen.
Now the Mujadeen sorry Taliban are trashing us with the same weapons.

Question is where are thes people getting the ammunition for all these American weapons?
Couldnt be the CIA could it?
You dont want dead soildiers? Then go home.
