Hi all, the radio in my DAF it’s useless, I can pick up the crap stations but I really enjoy BBC R2 as it keeps me amused all day but whether or not I can get a signal is a bit hit and miss and typically, as it gets to a good song our part of the show I want to hear, I lose signal. I’ve looked but cannot see where the aerial might be. I’ve pulled the radio out and the aerial is plugged in…Any ideas ?
Should bea dig black thing on the back of the cab. My understanding is the connection comes loose we have a few like it. Think you need to drop the internal back panel a right pain and as such nothings done.
You’d think it would be the other way round, get Radio 2 and not get crappy stations. Tbh, I haven’t seen an aerial on the cab - mine’s an 08 plate
I can get perfect reception one day, same road next day the radio is ‘searching’
No help to you whatsoever - sorry.
Apparantly the aerial is in the roof lining, and they are crap, its either above the drivers door or passenger door, cant remember which, I have the same problem with mine 64 plate, cured by streaming radio through the iPhone onto the stereo via Bluetooth.

Spotify on phone streaming through truck radio, can’t beat it.
Cheers guys
And there was me thinking the radio in the CF was the best thing about a CF!!
Mines above the drivers door under the wind deflector (59plate).
I can’t seem to get any MW stations on mine so can’t listen to footie occasionally.
They do seem a bit temperamental though.
If I get a different unit occasionally its it or miss the radio works properly so i always carry a Bluetooth speaker in my bag and stream through the phone. ( Unlimited data)

my DAF: it’s useless.
…I presumed you missed the colon out
Sorry to hear of your loss/pain. A CF, man does your boss not like you or mistaken you for agency?
I wouldn’t bother changing the aerial. A better aerial would be like sticking a gold plated needle into a dog turd.
Not a fan of DAF then James, I actually really like mine BUT I will say that it’s my first ever truck (rigid) as I’ve only had my Cat C since Feb. What I will say is that compared to the IVECO Eurocargo I learned in, it’s much better
I’m just pulling your leg
Think I should have put “my DAF is useless” bloody auto correct !!
DAFs alright, the XFs solid enough. Rubbish turning circle though. Worse motors out there though as you say.
