Are there any new, or experienced, drivers around the Oxford [or any] area that could give me some advice ?
I’ve been considering making the move to a career in driving lgv’s for a few months now and would like to know how other new drivers in my area have gotten along so far?
I plan on taking my class c and cpc etc early 2015 and would like to get an idea of how you found it entering the industry as a new driver in this part of the country.
My main concern is overcoming the Experience scenario, and how to actually prepare for real world driving.
Should I get the Class 2 under my belt and start on 3.5 or 7.5 to gain real world experience? Should I consider as an alternative path coach/bus/taxi driving too?
At 38 I’m sick of my current job and driving professionally really appeals to me, I’ve only actually had my car Licence for just over a year, I drove a lot on a provisional for a long time before passing, would this affect my chances at all ?
Hope to get some advise for new and old drivers alike,

I’m not from Oxford area but I can tell you if you want something bad enough, you will get it.Your first job will have to be whatever job you are given.
I tried everything before driving lorries and won’t change industries again.Plus you have the age on your side.I would (and did ) go for C license and don’t set the goals too low.
good luck mate
