I have a colour photo of my first love I have a scanner and I’d like to put the photo on Mr Oiltreaders section…but I’ve no idea how to do it.
I am sure that we would all love to see it Brian…is she in a school uniform.
There must be somebody who can explain it a lot better than I can but I shall have a try.
Make sure that your scanner is connected to your computer and that they are both switched on.
Lift up the lid of the scanner and put the photo on the glass face down.
If your scanner is like mine then press scan (or O.K.) or scan to computer, press O.K.
After your scanner stops making a few noises look at your computer screen and it should tell you which file the photo is being sent to and is being stored in.
Click on the Trucknet thread that you want to show the photo on and then press the Post Reply button.
Scroll down below the PREVIEW and SUBMIT buttons and click on where it says Browse…
Your files should come up in a little box which say’s Choose File To Upload.
Click on the photo that you want to show and a number or name should come up in the box which say’s file name.
Then click on the box which say’s OPEN.(That file number should then show on the Trucknet page where it say’s Filename, next to that Browse button).
It then comes up POSTED ATTACHMENTS and then click on the Place inline button.
Then press the Submit button.
I hope this helps but I am sure that somebody can explain it simpler.
Hi GOM, what you need is image editing software, so download Picasa 3 from Google, have a look at this vid for starters, should get you going youtube.com/watch?v=lUQio4Hgn3M.
Cheers

Make sure you are on the Oiltreader ‘Past Present’ etc thread first and go down to the last post before clicking on ‘Post a reply’ then when you go through what Mushrooman has said the picture you posted will appear below the last post on the page. Hope this helps Franky.

Here’s a couple on links to how to upload pictures straight off your computer.
Unless things have changed pictures posted as attachments should be either .jpg .gif or .png files, and they should be no larger than 2 MB.
If you try to post an image that does not comply with the above size and image format you will get the invalid file message.
Just to clarify a bit- Unless you have a very fancy scanner, you have to get the photo into your computer before you can send it elsewhere.

You could just post it to the Admin Team, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind receiving Millions of old photos to put up on here [emoji1]
Thank you all, I’ll give it a try when I’ve a bit of time. I’ve got Picsa (i think)
All this advice is great. However I spoke to my nine year old great granddaughter. She did the whole business in about five mins. Also cleaned up a load of junk files and arranged all my photos in alphabet order. All I had to do was get her a can of pop out of the fridge.! Happy days. Regards Charlie.

Child labour, you can’t beat it, my seven year old lad had to show me how to use the remote for the Virgin box the weekend, that cost me a happy meal
