So are you running with frozen ? if your load is a single temperature 1 fridge is fine but if you have a split load with a different temperature you need the other fridge putting back on .
but you would need the door down and as I said you need the coldest load at the headboard …
It’s good practise to have the coldest stuff at the front of the trailer but not essential nowadays with the current TK or Carrier stuff and a decent fridge body.
Had to get this in. Delivering to a company in peterlee a few weeks ago who will remain nameless but the initials are, castle farm. Gets on the bay and the forkie starts to take the temp. “It’s got to get below -16c otherwise I have to reject it” he says, “fair enough, why would you reject it though” says I, “because the load might have gone off” he says all smug. I was loaded with 24 pallets of ice cubes!
have to admit we always ran frozen at -22 and the only time i ever had fridge on continuous was over the water in summer and that was at the request of the comapny not my choice.
If your doors are open and the fridge is on the fridge unit works harder and kicks out really cool air to bring the box temp back down and could damage the product nearest the fridge unit.
That’s what were told anyway.
Can’t do print outs on newer fridges they have to be downloaded or can be tracked.

I remember a Sainsbury (Exel ) driver deliver to Plymouth then go collect the load of fish.
he had 2 pallets of washing powder on the headboard so dropped the internal door yep it was an old fridge where thy had removed the rear cooler but not the door …
Fish smells sooooooo nice when its warm in the summer .
That trailer was washed and washed and ended up parked in the corner for months

You will find they ( the manufacture) advise any Processed foods, meats ie ham, bacon, milk, yogurt and alike should be on cont. but 99% of drivers will tell you different because that’s the way its been done + they aint read the hand book that comes with the fridge .
Most of the Arla trailers I pulled couldn’t be switched, they’d disabled the button, so they were on stop/start all the time…

half the time places will lock out the control panel so you also prevent people changing the language too

All of ours comes in stop start (I work at an M&S). Even better when they use the urban trailer there’s no divider, they use plastic trays stacked really high, except the trays are full of holes! +2degree bread anyone? Frosted banana?
