I parked my car in a private car park which is “2 hrs free”. I overstayed by 10 minutes, so I hit on the daft idea of reversing out.
The camera will have two shots of me, both facing forwards, both in the “in” lane, both with me looking resolutely forwards!

But no pics of me coming out!
Right then…am I to be served with a penalty?
No idea, but you have to keep us updated
Will do. Only did it yesterday, so will wait n see…
I thought an ANPR camera only detected your number plate characters, it doesn’t actually take a photograph. I think you still might get a payment letter.

Unlikely to be an ANPR camera - no point really. It will be a static camera taking date and time stamped pics of every vehicle.
As previously said, private parking companies are just there to be ignored. they cannot issue penalties, just ‘charges’.
Reversing out is still a good plan though - Blackadder would be proud of it.

What a great idea.
I can just imagine them trying to apply a correct statement to the speculative invoice:
Dear Mr cheekymonkey, We are fining you £60 for exceeding your parking time limit, as proof please find attached two photographs of your vehicle entering the car park at 12.00pm and entering the car park at 2.10pm.
In future I will be will reversing in and out of private car parks so they think I have left before I have arrived and they owe me money.
If I worked in the control room and saw that then I would definitely let you off for putting in a great performance. I like the way you think, keep up the good work
