Got a london night run, next week, charging zones area,
Can park there, How much driving time before going in to london should i have left. Looks like i should have 30 mins left, if i do it, in one run
Just park it outside Buckingham palace, and close the curtains write on a piece of paper do not disturb and place it on windscreen
London’s a beast. Are you referring to taking a 45min? If so, i take 15min before getting there, so you only need to take 30 min there. Most of the unloading bays have a 20min limit, which are enforced. So stretching it to 45min wouldn’t be advisable. If you’re near Billingsgate meat market, you can park up there after the market closes at 10am. It is highly likely you’d run out of hours if you only have 30mins to play with.
I always had a 45 before entering London. That way I know I have 4.5 hrs driving,
Drive time depends on where your running from, will you be running from say Luton or Stoke.■■?

Same
From my end its like two hours to Central London in terms of driving time so plenty to get in and out in theory but I always used to stop for 45 on the way in then I know I’m fine time wise and don’t have to worry about it.
I dunno …how tf did it ever come to this eh?
Drivers worried about getting their job done and not having to commit the ‘heinous crime’ of taking their statutory breaks and/or rest periods in the town and area they deliver…aka obeying THE LAW.
Tacho rules are supposedlly there for road safety and safety to the public reasons, they become a paradox when drivers are put under pressure, and having to rush their arses off to ‘Get in, deliver, and get out’ like some kind of Special Forces mission ffs. …only to pander to and uphold the stupid needless rules set up by a Lefty authority, who look upon us as somewhere between a pariah and a bloody nuisance, instead of an industry that provides a service for them and who are an essential part of their economy structure.
Time was that you had the choice of at least 6 designated truck parks in and around the city…and that is how it SHOULD still be today, in order for us to do our job efficiently, safely, and legally.
From what I’ve heard you can’t even stop anymore to check your map, or notes to see if you are in or near the correct street, without some ■■■■ revenue camera zooming in and locking on to you like some kind of strike assault drone.
The local authority made up of mostly foreigners anyway, will see this as ‘A successful system’ of getting their stuff delivered, with heavy trucks not staying any longer than needed, which will soon have a knock on effect to all other UK major cities, with like minded councils.
If ever there was a time for Transport firms to get together, strongly protest,.and threaten, it is now…I won’t hold my breath, they’ll just carry on leaving their drivers to deal with,.and get on with it.
Only pleased I no longer go to that ■■■■ hole anymore.

The ban on lorries parking in London was brought in following the IRA London bombing campaign. Where their modus operandi was artics full of fertiliser explosive. They devastated the capital throughout the 90’s. I know that situation has now, largely been resolved, but there are always a group who have a beef with the colonists kings.
Aye right…and you actually believe that?
More like an opportunity to achieve a hidden agenda by using a convenient excuse.
If that WAS the case, nothing larger than a Transit would be let in,.and if you are carrying a bomb there is no need to park up, it would have more effect with the present group who are a threat to trigger it whilst moving in heavy traffic …so they can pay a visit to their 100 virgins afterwards.
Simple answer. All vehicles over 7.5 ton, drop the load into a transfer station,Outside the M 25 and let the 3.5 ton boys deliver it. Then see the chaos . lol

That was my point about hauliers sticking together.
It should be a no brainer, …They are preventing us from doing our job, so ■■■■ em, let them sort out and deal with the problems THEY have caused.

Though not haulier solidarity but retailer, put a stop to one of Sadiq’s plans; day time lorry ban!
Retailers knew that meant nights for their store staff, and the yuppies shrieked about night time noise pollution. But it did demonstrate how a collective CAN change a policy.

Some companies now charge a premium to enter London, which includes the customer pays the parking fines, and congratulation charge.
Did the run, took a 15min on the way, but hit traffic there 3mile before drop , got into the yard with 2min driving time left, parked trailer on 0, ffs that was close, Lesson learned, make sure plenty of driving time left, if i get it next time.
Nobody bothered me in yard.

Hope that is lesson learned, the hard way! I’m as cynical as God himself, our Robroy.
Why punish yourself by cracking on and only having 30 minute margin to play with?
Now you have created a benchmark to work to by doing it in one hit, break in the yard and one hit back to wherever. So on the return journey you were knackered and is that when the penny dropped?
In my opinion (and these are only examples) that 15min on the way should have been 30min after 2h30 driving and a further 30min at 4hr then continue in to London with a full 4hr30 driving period. On the return leg, have another two 30min breaks. Who in their right minds wants to be sitting in the saddle for hours on end without a brew or stopping for the toilet? Plus another hours pay every night so let’s say £12 per hour x 5 nights = £60 x 48 weeks = £2880 extra a year for taking a few breaks and not being a hero!

Why TF should the surrounding counties have to put up with their land being desecrated and the congestion generated for the benefit of the 020ers? There is a whole square mile of uselessness right slap bang in the centre which could not be more convenient as a superhub for all deliveries. Right next to some really handy BorisBike racks as well.
It’s not the driving time you want to worry about it’s the 4 hrs at Bestway Acton for 6 palls
