Advice - defective limiter

my ride that I have had over the last week has a defective (or missing?) speed limiter. obviously I’ve reported it and brought the matter up again when it wasn’t fixed. I’m on agency but its a very good job and I don’t want to make waves. I know that if I followed the rules I should refuse to take it out because at the end of the day it would be me for the high jump.

I don’t want to lose the job by causing problems, but a subtle word doesn’t seem to be getting through.

I don’t take it past 56 so I doubt I will get a pull, but its in the defect book on my name so I can’t just say that I didn’t know or that its only just happened. I can’t ask the agency for backup because they tried to move me onto another job because this one is temp to perm, and I went round the agency to stay where I am and I don’t want to risk them pulling me out.

any thoughts about how to handle it?

Can’t think of what right now, but maybe it could “develop” a fault, obviously not physical damage that could be attributed to yourself, that would render it undriveable.

I would defect it every day as soon as you stop for the first time after driving on a motorway.
That’s the only way you would you know it hadn’t been fixed the night before
If the company is running straight they should act on it asap, if they are running bent then it can’t be that good a job after all, because you will all get nicked eventually.

thanks for the help

at the start of the shift there’s no way I could know that its not been fixed. therefore if I assume it has, I’m covered. then when I realise its not, I defect it daily.
