I passed my CPC 15years ago and at present have not had call to use it. I have been approached by a close friend to go and be his transport manager(I am aware I will have to read up on and refresh my ageing memory), my question is- I work part time on another job(not transport related) he has 5 trucks, is there a minimum time per week set to be the TM or is it a case of turn up when you want to to make the job run right? All the trucks are regular runs which he sorts, he just wants me to go in and make sure everything is above board.

I don’t think there’s a written amount of time that you need to be there but you will need to show some time where you have been to the premises and performed your cpc holders duties
it is,nt written law but if there was a problem i think vosa would be looking for you to prove you had some sort of active interest in the business
