Got my first proper Class 2 job on Monday !!!
Been told the following by the agency:
Start at 3pm to Swansea to arrive by 10pm. Then wait 3 hours to unload/load (until 1.00 am).
Just wondering do I have to find somewhere to get my head down for 9 hrs before driving home for 5hrs (ish)

Starting at 15:00 means you will have until 06:00 before you will need to begin a daily rest period. If this is a one off job then that will be OK but if it is every day then you would not be able to work until 06:00 each shift, that could only happen three times and on the other days you could only work until 04:00, unless the 3 hour period you mention waiting to load and unload is at least 3 hours and is spent as a rest period, in which case you can do it each day…

I was thinking he starts work at 3pm and has some time loading before heading for Swansea. I think he will also be taking a break on the way as he says it is 5 hours driving on the way back. At least I hope it is something like that and not all driving.
It’s about 280 miles on motorways, so I reckon we’re talking about 5 (ish) hours driving. I will obviously have a 45 min break, but it looks like i’ll be getting there just before 10pm.
Not yet sure if im taking anything down to Swansea or just bringing a load back yet.
In that case I’m reckoning you are not going to get that done in a shift and will need a daily rest period before getting back.
