Advertising for your operating centre

So I gave a guy some advice on setting up his first o licence, and I’ve been presented today with is advert which he went and paid for in a paper that is free to circulate. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t qualify and he needs to re-advertise.

Anyone confirm?

it doesn’t matter if it is free, however the paper must be one that carries local planning notices ( I had a ad rejected for that reason, I used the Western Morning News instead of a more local paper )

I know someone who used another local towns paper so that locals wouldnt contest
Vosa refused it but he said well i can buy it in local shop

He had to buy the said paper from local shop send in a receipt to prove it
And then they accepted it

regardless of cost, the paper must be one that advertises the local councils Public Notices
