Advanced student loan

Hi new to the forum and after a bit of advice
looking at getting my class 2 and have come across truckschool in Bristol who are offering an NVQ course in customer service level 3 after completion they then put you through the class 2 LGV course using an advanced student loan fund

2 things

  1. Has anyone heard of this they seem to be the only ones to offer
  2. Is this an actual thing that is legit

If not legit can anyone recommend any funding for the course ■■

Sorry for the long post and any response is greatly appreciated.

It certainly can be legit. But, for most folks, it’s unworkable as it relies on workplace assessments etc over a prolonged period. You may well find it involves literacy and numeracy, though this may not be an issue for you. It’s worth digging into to find out what is actually involved.

Alternative funding is via interest free credit card (lots of them about provided you have a good credit history). Some schools, us included, offer finance but it is interest bearing.

Be careful before you stitch yourself into a complicated NVQ involving many different parties that, historically, don’t always work together so well.

All the best, Pete

Hi. I found out about the course with truck school last year. I live 270 ish miles away from Bristol. Josef who runs it talked through everything with me over the phone. He goes along way to make sure everything is understood by yourself. All the assignments are emailed to you. I was emailing my assignments back sometimes at 10pm at night and Jo was replying straight away with suggestions as to how to make them better before they were submitted. I had to go to them once in February this year for a classroom workshop and a bit of computer work. Then all that work was passed in May . I got my theory passed middle of June which was all done in my area to save travelling again. Then I went down to Bristol again on the 5th of July and came home on the 9th with a pass for class 2. I had Sean as my instructor and was made to feel totally at ease even though I was bricking it. My personal experience with them was brilliant and I’d definitely recommend them. If you decide to go ahead and speak to Josef, tell him Chris from Darlington recommended them.
