Advance warning--for germany

Be prepared for heavy road traffic throughout Germany again next week
on all roads if the Train drivers go out on strike again also ,they
have indicated that the next strike may be so planned that it will
last longer as a week ,If any of you do use the trains to move
containers or tilts, these will also be affeccted, and the
Hucpac will also suffer from this strike, IF they do strike it
will more than likely start around Tuesday.

Thanks for that.
Next week should be going straight to Vienna, or Tipping Hamburg then onto Vienna so I will allow a bit more time than usual.

BEN do not forget your snowchains as it is
required for AUSTRIA; and also in germany
when and where they post the signs,
another point for Germany ensure that you
and your vehicle are outfitted for the winter
weather,as this is a requirement now by law
for germany,BY the way Fuel is cheaper in AUSTRIA
than in GERMANY;

Yes I was quite surprised by that this week.
Cheaper in Austria than Slovakia too…
Wondered why they were all filling up transiting Austria.

We have been looking on various websites and as long as got at least 4mm tread on tyres we don’t need snowchains.

If it is really bad I will have to use my SNOW CURTAINS.

I think that might be for cars. If the signs say you need chains, then you need chains :bulb:

IF YOU ARE GOING TO Austria YOUwill need to have snowchains it is law
to carry these as from 15;NOV and also thefine is around 800€ plus and you will have to buy snow chains before moveing, sorry i will get a list of the countrys and post them here later on, if it is sign posted snow chains in germany then again you need them,

Will be going over in a van.

If it comes to it,the local polizei will have 2 choices:

D.K.V or Visa.

BEN if your tyres are not winter tyres ,again you may find that
the german police will fine you also if you are involved in a
accident, then the penaltys will be harsher than a fine if the police
belive that is required.you should ask by either the RAC-AA
AS PERHAPS THEY MAY RENT OUT SNOWCHAINS,this would
be ahelp as the weather if it is bad you will have problems.
