ADR??

Does this come under class 1 or class 2?

In other words can you drive ADR with class 2?

john

ADR is a license to carry loads or part loads that are classified as dangerous or hazardous goods and has nothing to do with the class of vehicle, so the answer is yes there are cat C (class 2) and cat C+E (class 1) jobs that require an ADR license.

Thats what I meant

john

There are smaller than that that need an ADR as well

But don’t get mixed up with Limited Quantities

Hi koikeeper,

Both tachograph and Lady P are both correct mate.

In order to sit an ADR course, you only need a Swansea-issued driver number.
Even if you don’t have a Swansea-issued driver number, you could still take the ADR course and exams, but you wouldn’t get an ADR certificate, instead you get a certificate that certifies that you’d passed the relevant exams.
An ADR licence is automatically valid for whatever driving licence category you hold and needs no further action on your part even if you do a subsequent driving licence upgrade.

I once taught ADR to a young lad of 16 who worked in an office. His driving licence entitlement was provisional for a moped. :grimacing:
The boss of the company (the young lad’s dad) wanted him to gain the ADR licence so that he could work as a van driver doing local deliveries of chemicals as soon as he’d passed his car test.

I hope that helps.
