Hello people. Day 2 of ADR today. Its all true you know Diesel Dave likes his pies!!lol. The course so far is ace. It is put across in a way us truckers can understand and more importantly can relate to. At first I had apperitions of having to be a petro chemist or the likes. NOOO WAYY, all you gotta do is listen and ye will learn. Dave has a way you see. ( PIE POWER ) i’ll beat him to the butty van one day.If any of you are thinking of ADR then could’nt recomend anyone else better. The course is well laid out and informal ( with free tea,coffee and bikkies not forgettin the baguettes.) All the other people are in the same boat as you so its a giggle as well, but lest we forget we are there to be educated and thats were Dave is the man who can.The class room is a mass of information all the time so if you end up dreamin chances are you’ll be lookin at one of the ADR diamonds anyway. Got some tests tomorrow so back to book for now. Again well done Diesel Dave bring it on.

yep you should. he is a walkin encyclopedia. im as thick as they come but even i understand what is goin on. cant go wrong. im payin for my course myself but you may get funding i know some of the lads with me have.

ok day 3 , still did’nt manage to beat Dave to the butty van lol ( he’s quick ya know ). done 1st exam today ADR Class Charactoristics or somethin like that. Was worried last night but I felt it went well Dave’s teaching explained it all so i could understand it all. WILL REPORT ON TOMORROW as it is main exam day, CORE, PACKAGES AND CLASSES. SO BACK TO THE BOOK.

Absolutely right from Sept 10th. If you do it before that it’s not going to count for driver cpc. Sorry about that.

only if the provider is register with Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) for the ADR
ADR training can now be approved as Periodic Training
DSA are pleased to announce that elements of dangerous goods training for LGV drivers can be counted as part of their Driver CPC periodic training.The following amount of time of ADR training will count towards their periodic training:
â– Up to a maximum of 21 hours of the basic course
â– 7 hours of the core module refresher course
All of the modules within the syllabus can be used except Tankers, Class 1 and Class 7, providing the number of hours training does not exceed the above guidelines.
Please note: the specialist modules that are delivered outside of the basic course will not be accepted for periodic training, as it is considered the syllabi for these modules are too specialist and do not map readily across to the Driver CPC syllabus.
Training centres who are approved to deliver the ADR qualification will also need to be approved by JAUPT and submit the part of the ADR course they wish to count towards Periodic training for approval. Existing centre and course approval fees will be applied (see the Periodic Training Guide for these fees). Please note that as with all Periodic Training tests or exams cannot be included.

You may also find that some ADR trainers may have an ‘arrangement’ with others who are Driver CPC approved so that the ADR can be cross accreditted.
Best advice - just ask the ADR provider if their course will count for Driver CPC (after Sept 10)

, phew glad that is over. 4 tests today but as ever Diesel Dave was on hand to calm and re-assure us mortals that everything was ok We sat the exams with sweat and goo emerging from various parts of the anatomy some class 6 substances could be smealt then it was time THE BUTTY WOMAN 
Guess what?? I BEAT Dave to the pies 
yep i did the impossable i got there first. After din dins it was time for the tanker module. very interesting and like i said before Dave has a way of putting it across so we all understand.so there you go. lets see what tomorrow brings Tanker module Test
