One for Diesel Dave again
If you have moved address, and then send off your Driving Licence, Digi card and passport for new addresses to be put on them, can you still drive an ADR loaded vehicle without carrying this photo ID?
Would a photocopy be allowed if not?
Thanks
Dont you get issued Company specific photo ID? i.e photo pass with your and your companies details on it. Dont think ADR specifies what type of photo ID is acceptable just that you have to carry it
Never knew you had to send your passport off for change of address?
You certainly don’t need to send off your digi card.
i done mine last november, to be on the safe side i took photcopies of drivers licence. must admit DVLA were on the ball and had all of them back within 10 days. ADR was about 5 days

In fact by law you don’t have to change the address on the digi card, but my driver has chosen to do so.

Well i didnt and renewed it recently no problem at a different address. It goes by whats on your driving licence digi card address is irrelevant.

Hi theonlybigman,
I’m afraid there’s no exemption from carrying photo ID when carrying a load that’s subject to full ADR requirements.
However, you can take a photo, print it on ordinary paper, and then get your employer to sign it as being the person it purports to be.
There’s nothing in ADR to say that the photo ID has to be an ‘official’ form of ID, so a photo authenticated by the driver’s employer is acceptable.
I’ve never had a passport with my address on it. I got my last one in 2004 though so has it changed?
No requirement to change address on digi card, as long as you’ve changed address on your licence you will still get the renewal forms to your new address.
well if he has Pavarotti at least he’s shown initiative by starting a new thread rather than reviving an old one

Thanks Dave informative as always!
