ADR are advertising jobs in my local town, Warrington.
I know there has been a lot said about them recently, and most of it bad…
But does anybody know what they are like with young drivers (only 19) my current agency only has one or two firms that will take me on and I’m yet to actually get a shift without it being cancelled within a hour!
I’ve just been told by my agency who sub to ADR for Toscos that they have cut our rates. I’ve said get stuffed. No more Tosco for me as that is the second time they have cut the rate. I also never shop there any more. Why help those who treating you like dirt

They have cut the “charge rate” to the subbie agency, so, your agency will be making even less out of it. The driver rates are still the same, if your lot cut your hourly rate, bin them !!!
In return for this “cut”, the agencies are getting a promise of “12 months” work
Its tough out there, ASDA are whinging about sales, and, from my observations this week, Morrisons will be next…M+S are very quiet aswell
Just looked at some old payslips getting the same rate at toscos £12.00 per hour for a sunday and £11.50 for sat as i was getting 8 years ago 8yrs ffs with no recompence for inflation.
I worked for ADR when I first passed with no problems. On Sainsburys though!
Just finished with them after a temp to perm contract and no complaints and always paid. Worth saying I was luck to get a contract with them guaranteed hours each week.

Really? When I rang Northampton branch to register and told them I was a new pass I was treated as if I had the bubonic plague or I’d asked if I could sacrifice thier first born child. I was told in no uncertain terms that I wasn’t worth talking to for the next 2 years
Mark22_2:
They do phone you Alot as do most agency’s!
I am sure that the bulk of the ADR work out of Warrington is for Iceland. I worked for Iceland Warrington back end of 2010 for a differant agency. Although the agency may be ok with your age its the contracts they supply drivers to that may have the age/experience and from what I remember about Iceland they didnt take on young drivers.
Dont think they worry to much about the 2 yrs experiance as long as you can pass the assement at the various work places but i will say that i have never seen any driver that is as young as 19 at the place i work and i must of seen 100’s over the last five years but thats not to say they wont take you on ,the only way you are going to find out is by calling them.
It doesn’t seem to be tescos cutting the rate. I’m subbing via mainstream and they’re still paying 10-12.
I also didn’t think that anyone could hold an lgv licence until they were 21, but I seem to have been wrong about psv/lgv entitlement, so take my remarks with a view to continual scrotal factor perhaps.

Changed a while back to 18.
PCV was always younger than HGV though, but HGV has changed down to 18.
PCV USED to be you had to have your car licence 2yrs, which made it 19.

Age limit was lower to 18 with the introduction of the DCPC, 10/09/08 for PCV, 10/09/09 for LGV.

F&W Teynham are OK, but in my experience they tend to dish out flat 8 hour shifts, which isn’t good for me on a commute, but might be suitable for those living in the area. I’m fully booked up last week and this @ Fedex, so I’ve had no calls regarding the usual other odd days work which is what I might normally get from Mainstream.
