ADR n CPC hours

Been ringing round for prices on ADR training…not much in it price wise, however what has varied is hours counting towards CPC…Most have said 21hrs but one firm said 28hrs… All seem good firms with good feedback, were quoting for all but explosives and radioactive ADR …anybody shed any light…?

think its mostly 21 hrs thats what i got but been told closer to cpc deadline it will be 28hrs i will renew adr get 28hrs then only need 7 what a ■■■■ industry this has become we must be the only ■■■■ heads who have to pay to stay in work eh

The basic 3.5 day course can count as 21 hours for dcpc if approved for such = ask the course provider
Although the course is 3.5 days the 0.5 for the exams does not count leaving 3 days x 7 for dcpc

Cost will be a bit more for a dcpc approved ADR course to cover admin, upload fees etc

The extra 7 hours can be gained by doing the TANKS course BUT only if the provider has that bit seperately dcpc approved and not that many do so ASK the course provider

Some canny dcpc ADR providers have it all dcpc approved and add an extra 7 hours on by doing perhaps drivers hours and/or customer service after the ADR bit has ended so that usually means starting monday morning and finishing saturday lunchtime for all 35 hours

Hi iceman1,

ROG has this correct in his post above.

Whether a person gets either 21hrs or 28hrs depends on whether the provider has registered the tanker module, and of course whether the candidate (or his boss) needs it or is willing to pay for it.

A standard ADR course is 21hrs.
The optional tanker module can be 7hrs, so the info you’ve been told is incorrect because there’s no connection with how near we are to the DCPC deadline.

That’s not quite right mate, because lots of other industries specify some sort of re-qualifying for people who take part.

Thanks for the info…
