Fancy doing my ADR again, but would like it to cost as little as possible.
I’m a s/e agency driver on a very small income, (Honest guv. ) so am thinking that a grant may be the way to go.
Anyone know of such scheme in the Wakefield area?
Ken.

just done my ADR at fitzwilliam l t transport 10 on course only 2 paid (i was 1 of them ) all the rest were funded by leeds collage ,when i asked at job center they told me no funding, but you must have to know the ropes as they were also getting hi ab funding for this week ,
I’d be interested in recommends for ADR courses and prices in the Bradford area as I need every advantage in my town when Peckover Transport advertises ordinary CLASS 1 for… £5.85 ph!

i did my ADR there & paid £600 for the lot.there were 12 of us & only 8 of us paid, the others had it paid for by some scheme to get them back into work as they had been made redundant, they had got a pay out as well!!!
they had also had there LGV licences paid for as well as a HIAB course,so consequently, they then got there drivers CPC as well as they had done all the training they required for it.
talk about feeling a little ■■■■■■ off when i had parted with all that money & they got it paid for & more besides but had never driven a truck until they went there & then had it all paid for!!!
no guarantee of any work as they had no experience at all!!!
i looked into grants when i was wanting to do mine, but because i was working, have no kids or family, don’t claim tax credits or anything else, then the answer was a big ■■■■ OFF

It’s a bummer when you see how people who work the system pay booger all, but mugs like us can’t claim chit.
your not kidding mate!!!
i got work straight away after passing the course so it paid off for me,whose to say those lads still haven’t used any of the training they were given to get them back into work as most agencies/firms want at least 2 years experience, but some agencies might take them on & then drop the rate cos they have no experience, but they’ll still charge the customer the full rate then that knacks it up for anyone else wanting to do the job cos it’s gone down by a couple of quid!!
