ADR Class 1+7

If i was to add these to my current ADR do they count to cpc hours or not just looking to add these to have a full ADR for work.

They are very specialist groups and unless you have a specific reason or employer that requires you to get the 1 & 7 qualifications your wasting your time doing them.

My current employer does move this stuff about i would rather add them myself then i am not tied to the company or anything like that.

Hi Colin,

Until I read your last answer, I have to say that I agree with peirre.

However, I do see the attraction in getting your own qualification, then not being beholden to your employer.

To add UN Classes 1 and 7 to a current ADR card will need one whole day + 1 exam for each Class, so two days and two exams in total.

At this point, I’d suggest that you check the remaining validity on your current ADR card to see whether it’s worthwhile adding those two Classes at this point in time.

The 5yr validity of an ADR card runs from when you did your Core module, so if it expires in the next 12 months, I’d suggest that you get your ‘standard’ ADR card renewed/refreshed before adding the extra Classes.

The unexpired portion of your current card will be added to your new card, so you won’t lose any entitlement if you take that choice. You could also consider any DCPC requirement and get all your ducks in a row all at once.

Just to be clear… just adding these two Classes will NOT extend your validity.

I can give you some contact details for providers in your area if you can tell me roughly whereabouts you are and your preferred travelling distance/radius.
