Only 510 days left in Army and another milestone has been passed; after a 7 day course I now have the full 35 hours CPC and I have done the ADR course Core, classes 2-6,8&9, packages and tanker module. I do have to wait 4 - 6 weeks for the results of the ADR, which does surprise me in this day and age of technology heavy administration systems
But nevertheless I am feeling chuffed to bits that as September 2014 approaches I am now fully qual’d up for when I enter the full time trucker job market

Hi arn1e,
You and lots of other people wonder at how it takes that long to mark exams and get cards printed and sent.
If you take your ADR exams online (only a very few providers offer this) you’d at least get your results that day, then the wait for the card is that much shorter.
For the vast majority of guys sitting their ADR exams, there’s a bit of a wait whilst the provider gets them securely sent to Glasgow.
There’s a wait whilst the markers do their marking, then there’s another wait for the people who put the photos on the cards and print them up. At this point, you haven’t quite done enough waiting, so there’s yet another wait for your new card to arrive at your house by snail mail.
dieseldave, Thanks for the explanation, which makes perfect sense as to why it takes so long for results to get back it can sometimes be easier to whinge rather than think about it logically
You’ll also have the advantage that your passes won’t be brand new, so even if you haven’t got much experience most employers will just look at the pass dates and make the assumption you’ll have had some experience during the time in between, which might just give you an edge.
That could go in my favour, but, as I have gone through the my life on principles that have stood me in good stead I won’t try and mislead anyone… As an Artilleryman I’m probably too thick to remember my lies therefore If asked I tell, If not asked but I feel it needs it, I still tell, a fault for some but hopefully a quality for many
