My euro 6 Volvo seems to use a lot of as blue. 90 ltrs plus a week. Is this normal
They are heavy drinkers compared to the fives. What sort of work do you do, I do mostly London work at 44ton and get through 50-60 ltrs a week. It’s roughly double the euro fives but they’re better on long runs or light weights

I would say that’s a bit excsessive. My euro 6 merc uses about 50lts a week and that’s over aprox 5500kms.

1100kms a day■■?
Been into volvo once already
Yes. It does a Glasgow to Leicester double manned trunk at night which is about a 970km round trip and I do roughly 200kms on days with it.
We’re hoping it’s got something to do with the faulty pumps and nozzles. The replacements aren’t out for another 3 weeks so time will tell

That’s good consumption then, probably down to the type of work. I had a euro 5 merc that was awful. Seemed to be putting in 30 lts every other day

I do light work. Only plated at 34 tonne with double deck trailer. Do about 2300 to 2500 kms a week

I was putting 20lts adblue per day in my old euro 5 Renault. So the new euro 6 merc is using half of what the Renault did.
90 plus litres a week, on how many tanks of Derv? I get 3 tanks out of 1 tank of Ad blue on a 15 plate 460 running fully loaded most of the time, I rarely do interCity work though, all long distance.
About 3 tanks. Add blue is 65 lte tank and I’m on a 500

That’s what I get, never run the adblue below a quarter on the third tank so may squeeze another half a tank of Derv out of her, like for like, the Euro6 does seem to use more than the 5’s did. Most of our 6’s do the same, 3 tanks of Derv for each of adblue
I’ve just been asked to fill mine today. I’ve covered 1290 miles (not kms)
Euro 6 should use less ad-blue than the euro 5 ,as EGR is the primary NOX reduction part…But a lot depends how a vehicle is driven ,too much loud pedal will increase usage,as will driving uphills So there is a lot of variable …With it all being new ,possibly the EGR isn’t as effective as it should be hence using more ad blue .But that is just a thought,it isn’t gospel.I hate EURO 6 nightmare to figure out

That is not true for a volvo. They use more adblue than their euro 5 counterparts. EGR is mainly used to warm the engine up faster and keep it hot for rolling regenerations, and at low speeds where falling exhaust temperatures reduce efficiency of exhaust aftertreatment systems.
The ACM monitors adblue consumption and will give you a dash message if it is using to little or too much adblue due to a fault (or a leak!)
If anyone is wondering why their adblue pumps on their euro 6 volvos keep failing its due to a manufacturing… oversight, shall we say that allows the adblue to clog up the air pipes in the pump that control the purging of the dosing nozzle. New nozzle is out now, pump in a few weeks.
My Renault uses hardly any. I can go weeks between fill ups.
My Euro6 Scania uses double the ad blue of its Euro5 that it replaced. It uses about 0.5-1.0lts of fuel extra as well.
Enough to make cry if I were paying for it. That’s for sure!
The ad blue tank on my Volvo is about twice the size I had on my Merc. Takes ■■■■■■■ ages to fill up in our yard as our pump works about as fast as ■■■■ trickling out of your bell end after you have siphoned the python

Lesson learned
.that’s why as a rule I just stick to my DAFs…DAF went through the nozzle being blocked with ad blue in euro 5 and ad blue seeping in to the air side of the LF, though filling the air filter with hot water would a lot of the time sort it out the fit a new filter …For EURO6 it is an airless system ,as in when you switch off it draws any ad blue in the lines back in to the tank…
