Adapting sleeper bunks to seating

I’ve come across examples of Merc sleeper cabs (Ategos and the predecessor models) which were kitted out with small, seat belt fitted, bench seats, rather than out and out bunks.

What legal matters would need to be addressed to convert and use a sleeper cab to a “Ryan Air” crew cab?

I’m guessing you need to have an approved seat belt fitted securely, suitable head restraint (padding on the rear bulk head) and notify DVLA and your insurance company. Am I missing anything else?

Here are some examples of conversions I’ve found on Google Images, just to give you the idea:

One company I worked for had a couple of ERF’s fitted with seats like that. For taking riggers to small jobs.
Don’t quote me as I have never been in one, but I believe some Magnums have an option to have a desk and seat instead of the bottom bunk.

Thanks for that Clunk.
