Mine just stuck half way across the windscreen the other day.
Has this happened to anybody else?
Wasted half an hour looking in handbook for fuse, and when could not find it’s location checking every fuse in the bloody box.
Later found out there is no fuse at all for them.
Anyway next morning they worked perfectly for no apparent reason.
Had a word with a Merc tech who told me it’s a common fault, if screen is too dry, before they drag… they cut out.
What you do is knock ignition off, lock doors (yeh I know, I asked him if he was winding me up ) wait until ignition and dash lights are fully out…blank dash, take keys out, wait a few seconds and they will work again.
It may save you an hour or so tearing your hair out (not a prob to me btw ) looking for a fuse, and/or a call out.
Saw your advert for a table, don’t suppose you’ve got one of those fancy full-floor mats going (VERY ) cheap have you?
(Preferably in navy blue to match my poofy curtains. )

No I never had one of those , just the 3 piece with a frying pan burn mark on the centre one
Park up switch off ignition remove key .wait a few moments
Insert key / fob push start allow the sequence to finish and it should reset its self. It’s a common thing .
Another alternative is this; Return lorry to depot. Shove keys up arris of TM. Put electricity into computer machine and bring up ’ indeed ’ on job finding wizardry. Select ’ van driver for 16 hours ’ option. Contact local council and request many, many forms for tax credits.
Then sit on own arris for 5 days per week and drive van for 2 days delivering car parts of prescriptions/vending machine cups etc…
PLEASE NOTE: This course of action will lead to excessive relaxation, time with her indoors/kids and £400 a week in pocket of ones arris. Other side effects include random people sneering that you are a benefits cheat and a bone idle sod. This is usually remedied by taking yet another holiday

Yeah definitely common. My lads Merc does it and a few others in the fleet where he works do as well and they’ve been into Mercedes and no fault found.
Yep mine does it. It’ll be fine for months and then do this for a few days until the bloody things wind their necks in. I just ignore it and avoid looking at the blades (they’re only trying to provoke a reaction you see) eventually they’ll realise that I DGAF and they’ll revert to normal.
Always carry a piece of string Rob… remember the old days mate…at least we got home using that system where you tie two pieces of string to the wipers…connect one end through the drivers window, and the other end through the passenger window…just pull each end intermittently…ha ha

Yeh I remember, but driving that old Atki I had with no pas, you diced with death taking one hand off the wheel while going downhill at 70mph in Paddyoverdrive, so I’d use my teeth and rock my head back and forward,
It worked but I looked like I was on a day trip on The Sunshine bus.
God that was insensitive bet I’ve offended somebody.
Suedehead:
It does it on the Arocs aswell.
Also, the intermittent wipe settings seem to have a mind of their own.
The rain sensor on the windscreen can dislodge from its holder.
You can try and clip it back in, but it tends to fall out again when you reattach the outer cover.
Pretty crap system, the programmable wiper on the Axor was much better.

Where abouts is the rain sensor mate ?
Agree about the programmable wipers, they used to have that on MANs.

Behind the black plastic cover at middle bottom of windscreen

Mine do exactly the same when you just wanna quick sweep of the screen by pressing the ‘wash’ button and was told it was due to lack of moisture on the screen (that was on here btw) even though it was wet…ish! I’ve also had them have this ‘mind of their own’ situation when on setting 1 of intermittent… act normally for a few mins then go all ‘rain sensing’ mode, giving 3 or 4 sweeps then return to intermittent mode…and ours don’t have rain sensing wipers!! And whilst talking wipers, why oh why, when you wash the screen to they remove the water then give it another sweep on a dry screen and make it all ■■■■■■ again?

Bloody hell, do they have motors on 'em now. It’s cost me heaps over the years for string.
