Ace Training Sawbridgeworth - experiences?

Has anyone had or know of anyone who took their training with them?

I wouldn’t reccomend them. I got in touch with them many times only to be told they would call me back which they never did, then I emailed them and they replied a week later saying their email had been playing up but it’s all sorted now. so I emailed back and never heard anything. Then I phoned them again a week later to be told they could fit me in the following week, never heard from them again so I gave up. I have also spoke to someone that used to work there and he said it’s not run very well anymore. Plus if you use the search function on here you will read a lot of bad things about them. So it’s a big thumbs down for me for this place and I would steer clear.

They do seem a bit of a cowboy outfit!!
I had an assessment drive with them at the beginning of this year and i didn’t have the learner entitlement on my licence!they told me it would be OK to drive! i later found out this was wrong.
They also said they would ring me with prices etc but never did.
Do a search for chequered flag driver training in hoddesdon herts,i went with them and they seemed OK.

I’m doing my training at roadtrain in Thurrock. It’s a bit of a drive but well worth it in my opinion, they are very professionally run, excellent friendly instructors I really couldn’t say a bad word about the place. Prices are reasonable too.

I was fortunate enough to be granted free training by my employer as im due to be made redundant soon.

My employers stipulated that i use this training company, which would not have been my first choice due to the distance from my home.

They dont look like the best outfit in the world, but as its free im not going to complain too much.

Ill keep u updated on how it went by the end of the month

Just seen this I did my class 2 with ACE training and found them really good although to be fair it was April 2008 I passed my class 1 with newcroft training at purfleet

I did my C and C+E with these guys, not the best run place but I had no trouble with them.
First ‘C’ failed, won’t go into it but a difference of opinion was discussed!
Pased second ‘C’ then passed C+E first time.

Rat!

Failed the test friday 6 minors & 2 serious. One serious was for not checking in nearside mirror on reversing exercise in the empty testing yard.

The other was pulling out on a large roundabout making another car already going round it slow down.

In the process of getting a re-test sorted hope i dont forget what i`ve learned so far. :frowning:

As far as the ACE is concerned friendly staff & instructors very good training vehicles.

Sorry to hear you failed bit now you know what t expect on the next 1 not to bad a score ( taking out the serious )

Do you not have a new date for re test  as most training providers have already got test dates pre booked so they should be able to offer you 1 of those

Hello Gats15,

Sorry to hear you did not get the results 1st time. Good luck with the retest. I have been watching this thread with great interest. Very nice to hear you had a good experience with Ace Training.

Not got a re-test date sorted out yet, will keep you posted.

There doesnt appear to be a cheaper way of doing this, if you dont pass first time, a retest + 1 hour lesson is nearly £300 where ever you go.

I dont suppose you get traing companies that charge by the hour for catch up lessions?

I can get 3 days training with test for £375

Sorry to here you not got a re test booked yet is it sill £115

Here you can have 1hr lessons or go for a 1 hr assessment which is free

animal,

So where can i get 3 days training + test for £375?

I live near London but for that price it may be worth a trip up the M1 & 3 days in a b&b if i dont pass the re-test

Might be a bi far for you to travel but have a good luck round your area

£375?. That sounds a bit too good. Does that include Vat and test fees. How long does the training last each day? Is it 2 days training and test on the 3rd day?

Yes that is 2 days training with test on 3rd also does include VAT & test fee is also on a 1-1 basis in a 1yr old Scania

Not bad if you just want some top up lessons with a test.

Was going to say 2 days not for a novice, but if you add up the hours a learner might spend behind the wheel on the traditional 4 days training with two learners sharing, they might give them a run for their money.

Even if you doubled the number of days, paying twice, it would still be cheaper than nearly all training companies down south, with 1-1 tuition!!
