does anybody know of a software program that you can enter you outgoings including loans/repairs/vehicle exps etc and incomes etc etc.
At the end of your quarter it can then show what to write in your vat return boxes
At your year end it will print off a report
And show what to put in the boxes on your income tax return
Basically will do what an accountant does but for much less money

That’s who I was going to suggest.
i bought one a couple of years ago “quickbooks,clerly book keeping” cost me £150 from barclays bank was supposed to be the dogs danglies, i spent hours n hours on it trying to set it up in the end gave it up as a bad job, vastly over complicated for what i needed, infact i’d go as far as to say if you knew how to set it up you wouldn’t have needed it in the first place!
i simply do my banking on line and also submit my vat returns on line as well, takes me maybe an hour a month to keep on top of it.
Sage line 50 is the package but extreamly complicated, there are very expensive courses to learn how to use it so unless you someone who can use it i wouldn’t bother mate.
Quickbooks is a good product and if Paul takes a chill pill 
and ‘plays’ with it he will find that it is really quite easy.
Quiken is also pretty good, the problem with all of them is you need to at least swome idea of accounts, my wife is brilliant with sage but that’s because she uses it for her job, i however can’t get on with it so use quickbooks

I tried sage - found it the same as you , so now use Quickbooks !!
Try MYOB. (It stands for “Mind Your Own Business”) www.myob.co.uk
It is similar to Sage but much more user friendly and a lot easier to set up.

Mate, why do you think i use Quickbooks and not sage, no it’s not that i don’t want her to know what’s going on, but let’s just say when it comes to her job she gives 100% but when it comes to MY accounts it seems like she’s always catching up
