Accidently entered weight restriction

Les Shoes:
I went that way through the weight restriction by mistake the first time I went there but never had any repercussions. They probably decided that having to visit Lidl Northfleet was punishment enough! I’ve been to Lidl DCs all over England and Wales but that one takes the prizes for belligerent staff and ability to ruin your day. That said, a visit to Lutterworth last week revealed a strong new contender and Enfield wins worst layout ever.

My mate was at Newton Aycliffe yesterday, 4hours 57mins to deliver 2 pallets.

It’s quite obvious to be honest. I messed about there my first time I delivered. Another case of sat nav blues. It’s there for a reason. If it comes you will have to swallow it.

Just say you was loading. It was probably some NIMBY hiding in a hedge taking a snap for his collection to [zb] over.

They will ask for proof, delivery note ect.

We have this in a village in Nottinghamshire,we deliver to a shop inside a weight limit and every now and they there will be 2 people from the council photographing you on the way out (you come in from one end and out the other no where to turn),then about two weeks later we will get a penalty charge notice to which we have to send a copy of the delivery note then the fine gets cancelled…now,if I was a good boy I could stop on my way out of the village and show the council jobsworths my delivery note so they wouldn’t have to go through the process of sending the fine out ect,but I like to waste there time so I don’t

Are you referring to the people who stand in papplewick on the junction ?

No,in Kirkby in Ashfield by the church yard they normally are on Kingsway.

Relax …went through same part few weeks ago ,nothing came of it.

I know once you’ve commited zb it!

Just dont do it again :open_mouth:

The boss would of OK’d the job even though its in a weight restriction. Not his fault.

That’s the other side of the roundabout from springhead ind est which is apart from a garage a residential street and the residents get the right hump with trucks going up there . But if your sat nave did sent you up there then you should bin it because it ain’t up there unless you are walking (ally way down cliff near the top of road)

Devils advocate.
You saw the camera flash why didnt you see the weight restriction signs?

Our brain is hardwired to be attached to movement. You will notice a camera flash where as you may not notice a static object, especially if you are consentrating on looking for your drop point.

Probably for the same reason the police don’t use weight restriction signs on the roofs of their cars. :unamused:

I wouldn’t worry about it. Springhead Road is probably the most ignored weight restriction in the country, loads of trucks go through it every day but have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it. There’s no camera there though, I came home that way Tuesday morning and I couldn’t find it.

Yes but will he be happy knowing if you saw the bloke and can explain and show why you are there and the ticket will poss not have been sent thus wasting his time in apealing

I’m sure there is a speed camera on the right just before the new houses . But the picture he has is of the roundabout going up into the residential side of Springfield road after the ind est which takes you up to the little bit of town Northfleet has

This is the roundabout Chester 1 just mentioned which leads to the Springhead ind est. Zoom in to the signage which is quite interesting.

Kirkby in ashfield is not a village it is a town although we do have more than our fair share of idiots!

Where you delivering to ? Londis?

Never seen the council Gestapo though although I have seen plenty of hgvs on kingsway lately.

True but you always clock a plod car moving or not!

Bit of a thread resurrection!

Anybody know of anyone actually getting caught by this camera in Springhead Road?

I’ll admit I may have made a bit of a ■■■■ up about 30 mins ago. (Road works with closed roads and no diversion signage. No excuse though. I hold my hands up!)
