accident statistics.

Hi. I’m trying to find out how many truck drivers were killed last year. 2013.
Sorry if this is a bit of a morbid subject but I have a reason.
I haven’t been able to find anything.
If you can point me to some numbers i would be grateful.

Try the website of the Office of National Statistics.

Might be a bit early for the ONS, they usually work a year behind while gathering all the information.
Do you mean killed while carrying out their job driving, or killed while at work but not driving, the driver killed at Toyota the other week for instance. The police would investigate them all so that might be a starting point.

What about trying the HSE ?
That’s where all workplace accidents & reportable incidents (RIDDOR) have to be reported.

Just had a quick look on the website, couldn’t find any statistics, but you could try to contact them-

That’s interesting reading, looking at the average road deaths per million (on page 15) the UK comes out at the lower end of the league table with 28 per million (in 2012) there’s a few countries that come out with more than 3 times our score :open_mouth:

Thanks all. Thanks Roadsrat, I’ve got what I needed off that link. Ta.
