Part of the M6 motorway in Birmingham is closed in both directions after a lorry crashed and crossed the central reservation.
The road is expected to be shut for several hours while debris is recovered from the carriageway.
West Midlands Police said the lorry crashed with two other vehicles between junction six at Spaghetti Junction and junction seven at Great Barr at 10:30 BST.
There were no serious injuries.
The northbound carriageway is closed at junction six and a rolling closure is in place on the southbound stretch.
Congestion is stretching back to junction five at Castle Bromwich and junction 10 for Wolverhampton.
