I saw the matrix signs saying it was closed at 18 so I went via Coventry down to the m40. I usually do this anyway when going south east.
Came northbound from Milton Keynes , yes closed southbound
“Multiple” HGVs according to a couple of news sites.
Closed between 18 and 16 and backing up on to the M45 too apparently.
That’s an awesome tailback considering the matrix signs were warning about the closure all the way down!

Heard about this whilst on the M4 at Bristol this morning, i never understand who puts up the messages on the Matrix signs, Matrix sign westbound M4 between junctions 19 and 20, “M1 closed Southbound 18 to 16” really don’t see why it’s displayed at Bristol, northbound closure maybe but southbound
